Sion Restaurant and store

Near petrol pump,
sion circle,
sion west.
Cuisine: Punjabi, Mughlai.
Average meal for two: Rs.150( yes it is)

What we say?

Siddhant speaks:
I visited this place after shifting to sion recently. The place is made out of limited source of finance.
THEY CHARGE LIMITED MONEY FOR THE FOOD THEY OFFER

butter chicken (half plate) - Rs. 45
Chicken Tikka Masal (half plate) - Rs.50
Biryani (half plate )- Rs.30
 and the list goes on

You are greeted by old wooden benches and very little air to breathe. A table can accommodate only four people. There are just a few number of tables in this place.

The good time starts when you get your food on the table.
PLEASE DO NOT LOOK FOR TOO MUCH OF HYGIENE IN THIS PLACE.
The plates and food appear to be clean. Keep yourself in that mode.

Every dish is priced and served as HALF PLATE. So, order in accordance.
Tandoori rotis are not available so content yourself with chapatis.

Try out their butter chicken, tikka masala. Worth the small amount that you will pay.
Pardon them for the excess of oil they use in their food.

The definition of mughlai chicken is different here. Til now I had Chicken Mughlai in red gravy, but here it is cooked with "bhurji" with chicken pieces in it.
NOT as good as the rest of the things we ordered.

BUT THE FOOD IS WORTH A TRY
I bet you would come back to eat if you are a person with less money in pocket, want good food, and in sion..

2 butter chicken
2 chicken tikka masala
1 biryani
16 chapatis
1 daal chawal
2 mughlai chicken

COSTED  US- Rs.352

Satisfaction of getting tasty food in hungry stomach was priceless..!!!

Rajdhani

Top floor, Next to punjab grill,
Palladium Mall,
Pheonix Mills,
Lower Parel.
Cuisine: Gujarati
Rs. 300 per Thali.

What we say?
Siddhant speaks:
I have stayed in Gujarat for a long time, so very well aware of the authenticity of the food served there be it saurashtra region, or kutch.
My First experience in Rajdhani was in the year 2007 in Rajkot. Rajdhani in Mumbai is a lot different.
Food quality has declined in these years, though it is still good. But I did not find it as tasty as it was 4 years ago. I still remember the smell and taste of food consumed then.

Coming Back to present, I found the outlet a bit busy. The outlay of restaurant makes the message clear of getting more "table turnover". This place is not to sit and chat. You have your food  in front of you, eat it, praise it or make a disgusting expression and simply leave.

Service is good. The staff is decent and would listen to your request.
Food is good- but people who know about undiyo, would complain about it. It was just an AVERAGE UNDIYO that I had.
Paneer is seldom used in gujarati food, but the modifications have been done in and paneer is incorporated in one of the dishes.
Not worth a try.
Two amazing Daal offered - "tikha" and "meetha"..
the rest of the food is good too..worth for the money you pay..ONLY IF YOU WANT A PURE VEGETARIAN MEAL.
They would offer you khichdi but plain rice is also served on request.

YES THIS GUJARATI MEAL ALSO INCLUDES DAAL BAATTI, WHICH HAPPENS TO BE RAJASTHANI.
I could not figure out why they serve it. My suggestion- GO, EAT & FIND OUT. YOU WOULD ASK FOR MORE!!

 What we say?
"FOOD IS WHAT WE SELL"- these were the words by Mr.Chaddha, the owner of khane khas to Satish.
We had a good time eating at this place. The waiter seemed to be in a hurry so kept on nagging about ordering food quickly, but I guess that's business and I should'nt complaint about it.
We ordered chicken achari tikka for starter. It was GOOD. Main course was balti chicken ( which everyone praises about), bhuna chiken, hariyali prawns along with kheema paratha, chicken paratha.
food was awesome in sense of taste and appearance. THOUGH BHUNA CHICKEN WAS TASTIER THAN THE BALTI CHICKEN. Prawns hariyali was satisfactory. It did not match the standard of taste of rest of the dishes. kheema paratha and chicken paratha was amazing and filling.!!!
Also do order for their rabri. You will not find anything like that somewhere around. Overall, if you want good food, if you want memorable meal, if you want your money NOT TO GO WASTE, then visit khane khas. the owner is a fantastic person and would make you comfortable and suggest dishes according to your preferences.

P.S.- If you are planning a great evening with your family, then better if you order food at home. This is a small utility outlet which does not emphasize much on comfort and luxury.

They do home deliveries to far off areas too but your order should be of minimum Rs.1000. This was the price that was quoted when asked about delivering food in Santa Cruz. !!!!???
